We designed a sunken firepit to use the slope of the backyard to our advantage. Stamped concrete with an inset circular step was poured to form a sunken patio with a gas firepit. We then used wall stone to create a sitting wall and firepit. The land was shaped forming berms for drainage and to create a sense of enclosure for the firepit area. We then added landscaping and fencing. The fencing was laid out so the two big Labrador Retrievers could be in the patio area with the family and then closed off from that area when guests arrive while still remaining outdoors.
